ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain backend services using Clojure, contributing to robust, scalable systemsCollaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver well-scoped, high-quality featuresContribute to frontend and mobile development where required, particularly using React Native and TypeScriptWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that meets engineering and security standardsParticipate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decision-makingHelp identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical debtContribute to continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, and system reliabilityWork effectively within an agile team, delivering iteratively and responding to evolving priorities
Requirements5+ years total professional software development experienceClojure – 2+ years: Hands-on experience building and maintaining backend systems in ClojureReact Native – 1+ year: Experience contributing to mobile application developmentTypeScript – 1+ year: Experience working with typed JavaScript in frontend or mobile environmentsStrong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, testing, and maintainabilityExperience working in collaborative, cross-functional product teamsComfortable operating at a mid to senior level, taking ownership of features and contributing to technical decisions
Nice to HaveExperience working in financial services, fintech, or regulated environmentsExposure to mobile-first or customer-facing applications at scaleFamiliarity with functional programming principles beyond ClojureExperience improving developer workflows, tooling, or engineering practicesInterest in long-term product development and growing with the platform over time
