We are a high growth healthcare information technology company with a start-up 'vibe' but over 3,000 customers using our proven solutions.The Engineering Manager - Application Development, will lead two cross-functional application development teams building and enhancing mission-critical healthcare solutions:PrivacyPro: Our 6x Best-in-KLAS patient privacy monitoring solution provides privacy monitoring insights and workflows that empower compliance teams to safeguard patient records, auditing up to 100% of system accesses with industry-leading precision to detect risks and uncover hidden privacy violations before they escalate. Tech stack: Java Spring Boot backend, React frontend, MongoDB datastore.ShortageCheck: Our medication shortage monitoring and inventory optimization solution helps hospitals proactively identify potential shortages and make informed decisions about inventory management. Tech stack: Python FastAPI backend, React frontend, Relational datastore.This role involves close collaboration with product and design teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions while adapting to shifting business priorities across both products. You'll need to excel at context switching between teams, delegating effectively, and maintaining clear communication channels to ensure both teams remain productive and aligned. While this role is mostly hands-off from code, your strong technical background will be essential in enabling the teams to make appropriate architectural and engineering trade-off decisions.

Skills and Qualifications:Proven track record of leading multiple teams or scaling a team to deliver measurable customer valueStrong technical background with experience in full-stack development and AWS technologiesExperience delegating to staff and senior engineers, with comfort empowering others to make decisionsAbility to make pragmatic engineering trade-offs that balance technical debt, business priorities, and customer needsExperience leading remote teams (we are a fully remote team that meets in person as needed a few times a year)History of architecting, designing, and developing scalable production applications with solid understanding of software engineering best practicesFlexibility to adapt as priorities shift and work through ambiguity with open communication and autonomyStrong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities across multiple teamsEmpathy with your coworkers and our customersWillingness to experiment with team processes, iterate based on outcomes, and maintain strong bias for action and documentationStrong written and analytical skillsExemplification of our core values (Get Stuff Done, Join Forces, Honor the Customer, Redefine Possible, and Have Fun)Experience with Java Spring Boot, FastAPI, React, and MongoDB or similar modern tech stacksExperience managing teams working on different products or codebases simultaneouslyPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Auth0 or other identity and access management platformsKnowledge of privacy regulations (HIPAA, etc.) and compliance requirementsExperience leveraging Generative AI (including code generation) to accelerate delivery and amplify team impactExperience in healthcare or other regulated industriesKnowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
