We’re looking for passionate, execution-focused self-starters to help us build the next generation of tools for founders. 🌟 About the role We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build and ship the systems that power Pulley's core equity platform. You'll own end-to-end delivery of complex features — working across data models, APIs, and backend services to ship high-impact improvements for startup founders. In this role, you'll work closely with product, design, and other engineers to turn business problems into clean, reliable software. You'll help modernize our platform, improve system performance, and ensure our backend is robust and maintainable as we scale. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and wants to work on systems that truly power company-building at scale. 🛠 What You’ll Do Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data models that power new features and improvements across Pulley's core equity platform Own end-to-end delivery of complex projects, from scoping technical approach through to production rollout Work on our persistence layer — database schema design, migrations, and data integrity Drive performance and reliability improvements across backend systems Work closely with product, design, and other engineers to ship seamless user experiences Mentor junior engineers on backend best practices and system design 🙌 What You Bring 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems Strong proficiency in Go Solid understanding of database design, data modeling, and persistence best practices Experience designing APIs and working closely with frontend teams Strong product sense and ability to translate complex requirements into clean, maintainable systems A collaborative mindset — you work well with product, design, and other engineers Nice to have Experience in fintech or other high-trust domains Familiarity with equity management tools or legaltech systems ✨ Why work at Pulley We've moved beyond early-stage uncertainty - Our product has traction and we're building on a solid foundation, but we're still early enough in our journey where your work will directly shape the company's trajectory as we scale.
