Software Engineer II

Position Overview: As a Software Engineer II at Diligent, you’ll take on a hands-on technical role in building secure, scalable, and high-performing serverless microservices using TypeScript on AWS. You’ll contribute meaningfully to our mission of making governance effortless for our customers, working in a team that owns its services end to end—from architecture and implementation to monitoring and continuous improvement.  This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer who writes solid code, mentors others, and embraces AI-powered tools to work smarter and faster. You’ll guide junior engineers, shape architectural discussions, and help scale modern development practices, including responsible use of AI in workflows.  Key Responsibilities  Design, develop, deploy, monitor, scale, and troubleshoot AI, ML, and LLM-based systems that power services across the platform.  Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including document ingestion, embeddings, vector search, and response orchestration.   Develop AI solutions using AWS Bedrock and related AWS services for secure and scalable model inference.  Build automated AI testing and evaluation frameworks. Collaborate with Applied Scientists and Software Engineers to implement and productize AI-based capabilities. Shape and develop the teams AI platform infrastructure utilizing already established patterns at the organization. Work on projects involving sensitive customer content used for Diligent customers’ board communications, which requires stringent privacy and security measures. Document and communicate your approach, progress, and results to the broader team and to other development teams.   Required experience/skills:   3-6 years of relevant experience.  Strong ability to develop highly readable and well-tested code that adheres to SOLID principles. Proven proficiency in Python and TypeScript. Proven hands-on experience with LLMs, including prompt engineering, RAG architectures, embeddings, and model evaluation.  Experience with infrastructure-as-code practices preferably in AWS (or experience with other major cloud providers). Ability to contribute to a high-performing agile team, and to product innovation.
