About the RoleDeveloper Success Engineers (DSEs) own the post-sale technical relationship with Finch customers. DSEs proactively guide customers from initial API integration through ongoing optimization of their employment data flows. You will drive increased usage, advise on integration strategy, and conduct ongoing architectural assessments to reduce friction, uncover new use cases, and drive deeper product adoption.DSEs sit at the center of the customer experience: acting on product feedback, surfacing roadmap opportunities to Engineering and Product, contributing to developer resources, and collaborating with Sales and Marketing to share what you learn from the field. You establish and share standard methodologies, and you help shape how the employment data ecosystem evolves.
What You'll DoScale developer adoption, helping customers integrate with the Finch API across hundreds of integration providers.Conduct ongoing architectural assessments of customers' employment data pipelines and recommend changes to reduce friction, improve reliability and optimize their own user onboarding performance.Identify patterns in customer feedback, usage trends, and pain points, then partner with Product and Engineering to prioritize improvements and build solutions.Troubleshoot and optimize API authentication and authorization flows, particularly OAuth, across diverse customer environments.Develop and maintain internal and external workflows, processes, and tooling that strengthen the DSE function and scale customer insights.Advance Finch's developer documentation and resources so that integrating with Finch is as self-serve as possible.Build subject matter expertise across Finch's target verticals, and stay current on market trends to serve as a trusted advisor to customers, as well as inform Finch's product strategy.
What Youll BringStrong communication skills with the ability to troubleshoot alongside developers and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.Comfort working across the stack: you've touched things like Node.js, SQL databases, and caching layers (e.g., Redis), even if you're not writing production code daily.Experience debugging API issues: reading logs, interpreting error codes, tracing request flows, and diagnosing endpoint failures.A track record of driving solutions for technical customers across different use cases and integration patterns. The ability to context-switch fluidly across technical, business, and executive stakeholders.Experience with a major cloud provider (AWS experience is a plus).A strong understanding of API design and development, including REST APIs, webhooks, and data-portability patterns.Genuine curiosity about an ecosystem that's maturing fast. The employment data space is still being defined, and you'll help shape how it evolves.
Success Looks LikeExposure to payroll integrations, employee benefits ecosystems, HR systems, or accounting architecture.Technical end-to-end project management experience. Background in Professional Services, Solutions Architecture, Solutions Engineering, or consulting.Experience using Git in a professional environment.
